Orthopedic Sports Acupuncture

Do you have a recent or reoccurring injury that is keeping you from staying active?

Orthopedic acupuncture can help!

We all know that staying active is a necessary part of daily life. With many people cooped up in cubicles and in offices all day, a morning run or an evening gym session is all that keeps most of us sane. Experiencing reoccurring pain can keep you from being physically active, leading to physical depression and mental fatigue. Acupuncture has been proven to help repair damaged tissues, reduce inflammation,  and reset proper neural tones in skeletal and smooth muscle tissues. Acupuncture has been shown to release endorphins into the blood stream there by reducing pain and inflimation. Acupuncture is by far one of the most effective non- surgical methods to manage physical pain and injury in the body. Don’t let pain stop you from doing what you love.

Common Injuries and Types of Pain that respond well to Orthopedic Acupuncture

We provide residents of Broomfield, Lafayette, Westminster, Arvada, Denver, Longmont, Louisville and Boulder sports medicine with the use of acupuncture and  Traditional Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture is a safe and noninvasive therapy for many world-class athletes—but you don’t have to be a pro to experience the benefits of acupuncture. So, whether you’re a die-hard marathoner, devoted triathlete, crossfitter or weekend warrior, acupuncture can speed recovery and enhance your performance by boosting your overall health.

Being athletes ourselves we know the value of a strong, health, capable body.  There is nothing worse than an annoying injury that will just not heal. Here a Rocky Mountain Acupuncture we use a combination of modern scientific based “Motor Point” acupuncture combined with a more Taiwanese style of acupuncture to produce quick and lasting results for our patients. We have been treating pain and injury for many many years and have become quite proficient at it. Most patients are happy to report instant results during treatment and lasting results with proper treatment. Acupuncture is not the only means we use to treat injury and pain. We also use a combination of internal “ie herbal tea” and external “topical” salves and creams to help promote blood flow and decrease inflammation in the injured area. Patients who keep up with semi regular acupuncture treatments report overall increased mobility, decreased pain and stiffness as well as a renewed sense of well keeping them physically active for the long term.

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can be wildly effective for injury and physical pain. However just like any other disease, illness or health concern each patient is unique and treatment timelines vary. However, depending on the severity of the problem most patients can expect anywhere form 1-20 treatments. The main factors for pain and injury is how healthy the patient is  and how old is the injury.

Treatment Frequency

Patient are encouraged to come in a few times a week in the first few weeks and then weekly until symptoms subside. Muscular Skeletal complaints are some of the most responsive conditions to acupuncture. Patients who follow the treatment guidelines will see a very high degree of improvement with the prescribed treatment frequency. Typical treatment frequency is 3-4 x in 14 days and then 3-4x  in 21-28 days, give or take.

Common Outcomes

Patients with muscular skeletal disorders will see marked improvement after the first several treatments. Acupuncture stimulated the repair of damaged and inflamed tissue. Outcomes are heavily defendant on patient compliance and often hinder on not re injuring the area during treatment.
